Springboarding from the dynamics and images captured from live TV broadcasts, I bring the match to canvas. Here the players become the colors, lines, and forms that interact in my exploration and expression of each unique game.

Soccerscapes Feltworks

In 2007, I created two series for specific shows; my personal show in May featured imagery from each of the 2006 games that led Italy’s Azzurri to become World Champions and in August a group show “Djela i knijige” featured works that explored motifs from matches that Croatia played between 1994 and 2006. The intertwining fluffs and fibers that I massage into felt interact much the same as the layering, working and reworking of paint in the oils.
